Beginnings

OK, here we go. The scriptures say, "and a little child shall lead them." Our children are not little any more, but they have always led in doing the right thing. Choosing whether to follow has been my problem. I have been given journals many times, and have taught lessons about keeping journals (joking about the fact that I don't). I have been grateful for the journals of my mother and father and many ancestors. But still... So this is a beginning. I want to make it rather like a journal. I may ramble at times. If I say things that bring up questions in your minds about our past, your past, or ancestral history, ask, and I will try to answer using this vehicle. Thus, it will be written and there will be a record.

As a mother of young children I was religious about giving them journals and an opportunity to write in them daily. Many entries went something like this. "Today I got up and had cheerios for breakfast. Then I got ready and went to school. Then I came home and did my homework. After that I went outside and played baseball." So again following their example, this is my day so far. We had french toast for breakfast. (A rare treat, but it is a holiday and it was made with egg starters.) Then we did some work in the office. Read blogs from Justin, Rach, and Matthew. (Nothing new on "Heather and Jed" today.) I folded clothes. It is quite cold but the sun is shining brightly, so Dad is taking down the Christmas lights from the house and outside tree.

I promise all entries won't be like this, but it is a start. Maybe some of our descendants will read this and say, "what in the world are cheerios and egg starters?"
